my story

Walking to school with my mother by my side, i noticed some children crying. When i asked my mother why they were crying, she replied that they did not want to go to school. So i kissed my mother goodbye and followed a prefect who brought me to the school hall. The hall was huge and brightly lit. Some children were reading their books while others were running around like hooligans. i sat down at the spot the prefect told me to sit and just looked at what other children were doing. After assembly, our new teacher brought us to our classroom. The classroom was decorated with strips of papers hanging from the wall and posters of "respect" and "discipline" and there was a birthday chart as well. We sat randomly. The boy sitting beside me was crying and i teased him by calling him a 'cry baby'. After some time, our teacher introduced herself. Her name was Ms. Yap. Then, it was our turn to introduce ourselves. When the boy beside me stood up to introduce himself, i shouted out "cry baby!" and he started crying all over again. Some of the students burst into laughter and because of that, i got scolded by my teacher! I was the first person to get scolded on the first day of school. As punishment, i had to go to the back of the classroom and face the wall. A few minutes later when the recess bell rang, we were asked to line up outside of class and were introduced to bigger children, i was shocked and confused about what was happening.

A boy named Jacob walked towards me. As he walked towards me i stared at him in shock. He then ask me to tell what was my name. After telling him my name he escorted me to the canteen. He told me who to by my own food. I bought a plate of chicken rice. After eating he gave me a tour of the school. A few minutes later the bell rang. We all lined up and our teacher brought us back to class. She then started to Teach us maths. I always hated that boring subject.A few hours later school had ended . I quickly ran to gate and i saw my mother impatiently waiting for me because i was the last one to leave from class as my teacher had to explain to me the by calling the boy "cry baby" was very wrong. when i got together with my mother i told her every thing and when i told my mother i got scolded, her face turned red. She told me to never do that again and went into the kitchen to get lunch. I will never forget the day i went to primary school for the first time.
